This year, Optocraft looks back on 20 years of successful company history. Founded in 2001 and located in Erlangen-Tennenlohe (DE), it has been developing and manufacturing wavefront-based measurement systems with utmost precision and robustness. These are now common place in various industries, for example in the development and production of lenses, objectives or laser systems.
From a start-up to an international specialist
The then young start-up company received its first order from the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt in 2001 – a customer-specific wavefront sensor used for atomic clocks. From then on, things took off. Today, Optocraft employs 29 people in design, software, product and application development and distributes its products worldwide.
Innovative strength – with distinction
From the very start, the company has been focusing on technology. Developed as Optocraft’s initial product, the SHSLab wavefront sensor serves as the basis for all measurement solutions. The Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce recognized their achievements in this field of technology in 2006 and awarded Optocraft with the Gründerpreis (founder award). The Innovationspreis Bayern (Bavarian Innovation Award) followed in 2011.
Nowadays, Optocraft’s portfolio of wavefront sensors encompasses a broad spectrum of applications from DUV to SWIR. These very sensors are also at the core of a wide range of turnkey measurement solutions, enhanced by control and evaluation software.
Ready for the future - partnership with Micro-Epsilon
A special milestone was the strategic partnership sealed with Micro-Epsilon in 2018. Optocraft is taking a giant step into the future, creating synergy effects and sharing from the vast pool of collective knowledge for the further development of products.
