Fibre Lasers and Spectral Broadening using iXblue Phase Modulators | |
07 Dec 2021 Low Vpi and low insertion are key parameters when talking about the Near-Infra Red Electro-Optical Phase Modulators. Additionally for fibre lasers and Spectral Broadening application, a very wide bandwidth of 30 GHz is usually required. iXblue releases the new NIR-MPZ-LN-20 which fulfils all these performance levels. And because the Near-Infra-Red modulator’s optical waveguide is manufactured using the Annealed Proton Exchange process, the modulator benefits from a high-optical-power handing capability of up to 300 mW and exhibits stable operation over a very wide range of temperature. The NIR-MPZ-LN-20 is the first Z-Cut Near-Infra-Red Phase Modulators produced by iXblue. It combines all the well-known optical performance and optical stability behaviour of the X-Cut design modulator with an improved lower Vpi of 3.5 V and a wider electro-optical bandwidth of 30 GHz.
